Nintendo’s successor to the Wii is going to come in to the market in 2012. Official channels have refused to give any other details about the new gaming console. But there have been rumors going around on the Web about everything right from the price of the console to the hardware inside. A lot of people say that there is a need for better hardware inside the console. The current console is too weak and doesn’t have HD functionality. There is not even one gigabyte of flash space inside. HDTVs are more popular now as compared to what they were in 2006 and it has become a pre-requisite of every gamer now.
Nintendo has always been putting codename on their console products. Gamecube was called ‘Project Dolphin’ till it came out in the market and Nintendo Wii was dubbed as ‘Project Revolution’. Rumors say that the name of the new console is ‘Project Cafe’. Of course, this is not the original name. The final name is likely to be ‘Stream’ but the manufacturer hasn’t made a final decision yet.
The new console isn’t going to be cheap. Nintendo Wii had a price tag of $250 and this was the reason behind its big success amongst gamers. The Stream could cost somewhere between $350 and $400.
